Only two hours drive north of Vancouver along the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway, Whistler is the award-winning mountain resort community that offers everything for adventure-seeking gays and lesbians. You won't believe Whistler's scenery: towering, snow-capped mountain peaks, evergreen forests, fresh water lakes, and a sophisticated alpine village with all the trimmings of a vibrant urban centre: shopping, cafes, restaurants and bars.
If you're hungry for serious recreation and want to experience what the locals do just take your pick: bungee jumping, zip trekking, hiking, river rafting or mountain biking. At the end of the day, Whistler's spas offer the best treatments for your tired muscles. But most of all, visit Whistler for its people and personality. Join the suntanned locals lounging on the sandy beaches; suit up with the rugged riders in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park; take-it-easy and relax at the cafes; embark on a hiking adventure along forest trails and ascend to alpine vistas.
This is the Whistler lifestyle that everyone always talks about. In the winter, when snow blankets the mountains and the valley, skiers and snowboarders carve through high alpine bowls and seek out perfectly groomed runs. Whatever your Whistler winter day holds, don't miss out on the après scene. Drinks, food, friends, tall tales - it's a must-do.
